Tried following the advice contained in this thread but it did not work for me. Adding the line “options snd-had-intel probe_mask=0xfff2” to “alsa-base.conf” removed all audio hardware support!
The command “aplay –l” gave me the following output:
Quote:
**** Lijst van PLAYBACK hardware-apparaten ****
kaart 0: Intel [HDA Intel], apparaat 0: HDA Generic [HDA Generic]
Sub-apparaten: 1/1
Sub-apparaat #0: subdevice #0

Sub-apparaten: 1/1
Sub-apparaat #0: subdevice #0

The command “lspci –v” gave the following audio-related output:
Quote:

Subsystem: ASRock Incorporation Device 2920

I am at a loss on what to do next. It seems to me that my audio device is not supported by Ubuntu 10.04. Maybe the best way forward is to move to the latest Ubuntu release, but I favored Ubuntu 10.04 for its long term support!
