Exclamation No DISK SPACE NOW! PLEASE HELP


I've reformated my computer many times while trying to put Linux on it. The bad side is it wont work and now i'm down to a total of 5 gigs when i started with 160! please help i have no F*cking clue what to do!

wat do u meant "it wont work"?
do u manage to install linux or not?
if u do u can use fdisk to list down all ur partitions

# fdisk -l /dev/hda

I think you need to start with reading up on partitioning hard drives and such things...

Okay, how did you partion or format the drive? What tools did you use (windows, linux install utilities, etc)

The best way to deal with this would be to get a copy of knoppix or some bootable CD or floppy linux and run that on the machine. You could show the results of

fdisk -l /dev/hda

to see what's going on. Then use fdisk to partition the drive.

Or if you plan on putting linux only on this box then most distros these days will to an auto fdisk and format and take all the drive space...

Some more details of what you did and what tools you used would be very helpful in helping here.
