Hello all, I'm building a new computer from monarchcomputer.com. I'm choosing the LanParty UT NF3 250GB motherboard. I see there is already a review on lq but it's lacking on whether Linux sees the individual drive. This way I can use software Raid 5 instead of the restricted hardware raid 0/1.

I looked deeper on the internet to find some more results:
linux-tested.com - no RAID results
linuxmafia.com - dated 2004, RAID will not be compatible according to Jeff Garzik

Since this is dated 2004, January, I was wondering if anyone has been able to see the individual disks in Linux on this type motherboard.

Any links, perhaps?

The nvidia nforce Serial ATA controller is supported by libata in recent kernels. You can read Jeff Garzik's (the libata man) status report here. It is updated frequently.
