Nforce3 Raid and Suse 9.1, ERRORS
OK! here we go
I have a total of 4 hdd's, 2 of which I am using in a RAID for windows. The partitioner sees both drives as /dev/hde and /dev/hdf, but it also sees the raid as /dev/hdg1. Those will stay connected but not in use by SuSe. I also have a 40gb Maxtor where I think somehow the partition table got f***ed, but that is a side note at this time. After installing the 64-bit version of Suse, I have to boot from the cd, and tell it to boot from hard drive, and the terminal window carries on through the bootup process, EXCEPT!! This is where the plot thickens..
Even though I formatted the 40gb drive into 2 partitions, one for my / and the other for my /home/, and told the installer to not mess with anything else (supposedly), it continues to try to see hdg1 and gives read errors, and resets. (bad lba I think, would have to check it again sometime).
Is there a way to bypass this autodetection so that I would be able to get everything initialized like normal?
