I just bought my new system with amd 64 3200+, Geforce 6800 TD en Gigabit K8NF-9 with NForce 4 chipset, I downloaded the graphic drivers from nvidia but my 7.1 onboard audio doesn't work. I only have plain stereo audio, I tried to find drivers for my NForce 4 motherboard on the nvidia site but they don't have linux drivers for it.
Can someone please tell me how to get drivers/7.1 audio working?

Your best bet might be to take a look at the ALSA project (just google for it). The project has the widest range of hardware that it supports and I consider it to be "the" Linux sound standard. If you there is any hope that your sound chipset is supported -somewhere- for Linux, this is your best bet.

Usually, using ALSA for your sounds consists of setting some options and then compiling a "kernel module" that supports your sound chipset. This "kernel module" is then installed a startup of your Linux system (or anytime from the root commandline) and provides sounds services to the kernel that allows it to control your sound chipset.

I have an nForce 4 chipset, and use my onboard sound. Make sure ur using the latest 2.6 kernel (I think 2.6.10 at least is required). Then just yum alsa and run alsaconf as root, it shud detect ur sound and confiugre it
