I have an Abit NF7-S revision 2 motherboard and a Radeon 9600XT. Both work well together.

What exactly are your problems? You should be able to find quite a few discussions on both nforce2-based motherboards and ATI video cards, both here in the forums and in the HCL.

i am having issues with installing the 9700 pro drivers from ati's website.
i have followed the instructions to the best of my limited ability..
dont let my # of posts fool you. i just installed mandrake 10 official over the weekend. i have had to reload it 3 times already.
i cannot get it to work i dont know how to compile the kernel as to what ati website is talking about..
as for hcl.. everyone that has radeon 9700 pro noone is listed as running mandrake 10..
i followed instructions for intellimouse install from a link here in LQ but when restarting i got an error about it not existing. not sure where i went wrong.. and then it wont boot to X ... just CLI if i typed start x. it gave me some error message that i dont remeber .. so i put in mandrake 10 cd and started over. i downloaded firefox .. wokred fine.. followed instructions off of a site on firefox.. i even got macromedia plug in to work..
i feel if i had step by step instructions to follow i may be better off.
ATI is working but no open gl or high ping times from glxgears.. like everyone else is showing..
i am looking into switchign distros to somethig more popular here in the forum just for ease of use in chekcing for answers to my problems. or possibly going back to windows xp..
ugghh
