I'm trying to install a RAID1 hardware with a controller LSI ultra320 with Fedora. I have 2 identical SCSI HD. The Problem is that I'm a total newbie regarding RAID. Here is what I've done:
I started the Raid assist Programm and selected 1 HD as primary and the 2. as secondary. Then I installed FC5.
I guess it's a bit short regarding RAID-configuration, but I don't know what and how to configure!
FC5 runs and shows only 1 HD. I don't even know whether it's normal or not.
I've bought a book (Managing Raid on Linux) but the books is a bit old and deals most of all with software RAID. I coulnd't find any other book about this subject. I couldn't find anything online that could help me.
Did I do the things right so far?
What do I need to do?
How may I see if a RAID1 works?
I apologize for those very general questions but it's really hard finding infos about RAID when you're a newbie. I'd be very grateful if anyone could explain me step for step how to make my RAID1 works, or if anyone could show me a tutorial for newbies about RAID1.
