newbie: motherboard seems doesn't detecting dual pci cards

Hi, this may not be directly a linux question. but I've been trying to setup a small home network by using 2 network card.

after a brunch of twist, i finally able to get both cards detected. right when i thought it works, my system crashed. after i restart, BIOS start complain PCI cards are sharing resouces.

and if i force to get into linux, eth0 would be up, but eth1 would fail to bring up, even /proc/pci still show information about eth1 and all those good stuff

my question is, supposingly regardness we wanna do dual monitor or dual networkc card, all we need to do is stuck those pci cards into our box, right?

i don't think there needs to be any config from a BIOS prespective right?

as for record, mother board is SE440BX-2
network card are: 3c905c (supported) eth0
and D-link DFE-530TX (also supported using 8139too driver)

p.s: after a brunch of battles, i now bring the setting back to orginal status, meaning 1 network card, with adsl setup...etc
