a) dunno if it support linux, but google showed some people use this with mdk 9.2

b) wanna make sure if i can install it, what do i need to do in order to install removible media drive?

c) is it always harder to install new device "after" linux has been installed?

4) what are the steps i need to follow and consider, when buying new cd-rw, and dvd rom or combo drive?

If your BIOS properly recognizes the device and if Mandrake's site lists the hardware as having worked with its Linux, then, you should be able to simply remove your old CDROM, replace it with this new device and your Linux should just recognize it. I do know that when I swapped out my Ricoh 2X2X6X CDRW for an MSI 52X24X52X CDRW, my Linux simply recognized the new CDRW without problems and I also use Mandrake 9.0.

1.) Im sure you can find a drive like the one your looking for that will work in Linux.

2.) ?

3.) Try 'apropos cd burner'

Hope that helps some.
