New TV tuner
 

Hello,
I have spend very long time trying to find a tv tuner that WILL work with OpenSuSE ! ! !
I also want a tv tuner that:
*is USB
*takes digital AND analog signal
*if possible to have radio too!

please answer to me only if you have one yourself and it is working on you!
unfortunately there is no website that can give me the specific information i want

You need to make better use of your search engine. There are quite a few usb tuner sticks that work on linux. I have one. It works. I suggest you find what you want, then search to see if there's any information.
example:
1.Go to a store, look for a usb stick.
2. Get its part number... hvr-950
3. Then enter on the search engine hvr-950 linux
4. Good Luck

There are lots of cards that will give to what you've requested but Happauge are supported by MythTV (if you have intention to use MythTV)

I think you are going to have a tough time finding what you are asking for. There are a few dual (analog/digital) PCI cards available. I THINK most of those actually run two chipsets (one digital/one analog). But I have not seen anything with USB (dual).

An alternative solution may be to split them up. Use something like the HDHomerun for digital (dual tuner over Ethernet) and then pick up a cheap analog/FM usb tuner. The advantage of the HDHomerun is that you just stream everything from the box (minimal cpu load) and if you have multiple boxes all of them can access the tuners. It works great with MythTV, VLC, or anything that can handle a stream.

first of all Hauppauge HVR-950 did NOT worked with opensuse linux 10.3 i tried to follow the instructions which work with other linux systems but not with opensuse 10.3 ! ! ! ! gives many errors, i tried to communicate with the people who create the drivers but no luck as well

from those hauppage you suggested me, none is analog&digital, personaly the only analog&digital i know is hvr-950 which as i said didn't work and i had to sell it....

there are not many usb analog&digital, that is true, but i want one that it is and works with linux! i don't know, i might ask too much? another option is AverMedia of the type "hybrid" however also does not work on linux.....
PCI in laptop difficult to put btw...
