Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

New Netopia Reach 3D Wireless USB Card Ndiswrapper problem

Alright I've had Fedora going strong working with my Netopia Wireless adapter through NDisWrapper for a while.

Then one day after a restart wlan0 doesnt exist and wireless networking doesn't work.

So I uninstalled the netopia driver rt73.inf and did the Ndiswrapper proccess over, and this time it returns as wlan1 instead of wlan0

Also it doesnt work. When i try: iwlist wlan1 scan I get an error saying: Interface doesn't support scanning: Network is Down

It was weird and sudden for it to just stop working suddenly.

The last thing I did was get VirtualBox running with Windows 7, and I had to modify fstab to get USB devices to work inside the VirtualBox so I can sync my iphone.

After I had everything up and running fine, I did a restart and this is when my USB wireless adapter stopped working.

I don't know what's wrong.

Code:
I keep getting this error:
iwlist wlan1 scan I get an error saying: Interface doesn't support scanning: Network is Down
Can someone please help me get my wireless USB adapter back working?

The "network is down" message means you need to run `sudo ifconfig wlan1 up`, since the adapter's down. Before that, I'd run `ndiswrapper -l` and make sure it has the device working right.

...all that said, the newer kernel versions have the rt73 drivers included. If you've updated your kernel, you might be having problems with two drivers trying to use the same hardware.
