Hi havent been here for a while because of non linux stuff, but i need some help printing from ubuntu karmic.

as i state in my title line:

network printer visible and installed but nothing happens when trying to print

when i print to this network printer (own ethernet and ip) from hardy all is fine.

now i am using karmic on my laptop and I cant print from it. drivers are installed, the printer is added to the system and its status and settings are shown correctly. it is visible on the system but any print command i give never reaches the printer.

does this sound familiar to any one and is there something i am missing? i have installed this printer on many machines without problems, just in karmic not so lucky.

Have a walk through the files in /etc/cups - cupsd.conf, interfaces, printers.conf. Compare with hardy.

ok will do, sorry for long wait, expect another one may be longer as I am changing isp. Thanks for the tip, will have a play during off line time.
