Network card not detected

Hi all,

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 PC, and it has a Ethernet Card in the motherboard (PRO/100 VE Network Connection).

I don't get make it work and I am a bit stuck, I don't know what I should do. Any ideas would be welcome...

I have tried to install the e100 driver, but it gives me this error:

Using /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o: init_module: No such device

Your current kernel most likely isn't compiled with the proper support. Have you tried to recompile your kernel to add such support? You could possibly attain the driver from download and or install it as well without compiling your kernel.
