network card no longer being detected -- stressing!!

I have an assignment due in 3 days and am stressing.

My internet is suddenly not working, it says on bootup that the network interface (eth0) failed.

It was working fine up until yesterday when i did an update.

I have dual-boot and the internet is fine on windows.

what could be the problem? how do i quickly fix this?

hope someone can help me soon, im stressing out!!!
