need reliable audigy 2 platinum help with FC4

i just formatted my windows box back to linux again (finally!!), but to my dismay, my audigy 2 plat. card is not working. this isnt going to go over well with my wife LMAO!!

ive done quite a bit of googling, but so far, nothing is working. can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction?

ALSA always sets my Audigy 2 output to Digital in alsamixer. If you go in with that command (alsamixer) and check each line, if it has a Q or MM or something, push M to toggle it and see if your sound comes on. That is the first suggestion that would be the easiest to diagnose fix, as long as you are using ALSA. HTH
