Need New sound card, need suggestions

Hey all,

well I am in the market for a new soundcard since I can't get my Audigy LS to work properly and I was wondering which company or what I should be looking for that is simple to use.

I would prefer a 5.1 or higher (7.1 being the best) and price doesn't really matter unless it's like over $200 but I am trying to stay around $100 CAN

Well any help would be nice.

I just want to make sure it will work with linux and doesn't have the same whatever emuk101 as Audigy LS

What version of alsa are you using? Have you seen this.

Well, for 30 CDN, you can get a SB Live 5.1 in Toronto. It has ALWAYS worked perfect for me. My onboard via82xx bs never worked well.
