Need IDE driver for PowerPC

I need to hook up a harddrive to a PowerPC chip running Linux 2.4.22.
I am still looking to buy the interface hardware.
Can anybody recommend a piece of interface hardware that has a Linux driver that will work with the PPC.

I have a Silicon Images 680 board, but doesn't seem to work with the driver I have.

Thanx

The 680 board should work just fine if you have the option compiled into the kernel.

I am new to creating Linux embedded systems.

For the 680a Board I enabled:
1. Silicon Image Chip Support
2. Enhanced IDE/MFM/RLL disk/cdrom/tape/floppy support
3. PCI IDE Chipset support
4. ATA/IDE/MFM/RLL Support
5. Generic PCI bus-master DMA support
6. MPC8260/8272 CPM Support
7. PCI

The behavior is erratic when the board boots. I never see anything I can identify as a hard drive come up.

I am doing this with a Metrowerks Target Wizard software. Is there anything that I am missing?

Have you actually been successful in getting a harddrive to work off a PowerPC?

Thanx
