Need help with getting printer working.
Ive read that its easiest to get a printer working by using http://localhost:631 so I did that and it (samsung ml-1210) will not print. When I try to print a test page I get the error, Client-error not possible. I know its supported and cups is installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I try to print anything the printer starts up like its going to print then does nothing. I do dmesg | tail and I get this: parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP,TRISTATE] lp0: using parport0 (polling). |
I have been able to get it to print through firefox and a test print but cannot print through Kword or any Koffice programs and when I try to do " cat anyfile > /dev/lp0 " I always get the message " device or resource busy " anyway to fix this? I have turned the printer on and off and rebooted with the same results. :( Thanks.

I dont understand:confused: isnt printing, Printing? Whats the difference what program I am using? Obviously it does because I can print from my browser but not in gimp, kword and every other program. :(
I messed around with kprint but I cant see anything that would allow me to print in programs. |
What does your error_log say?
