Seems like this is the module that is relevant:
emu10k1 84132 0

The module is found

I have the module, but the sound is not working. When i run alsaconf it doesnt find any sound cards even when i have one internal sound card and one external sound card. The internal is an intel sound card and the external is a brand new soundcard i bought named "Sound blaster Audigy ZS". I bought this because i was tired of problems with the sound, heh and that doesnt work either.

Installing ALSA

I have installed an updated version of these alsa packages (1.0.11):
alsa-firmware
alsa-plugins
alsa-lib
alsa-utils
alsa-oss
alsa-tools

The sound is still not working while these are installed. I could get alsa-driver to install because i got this error:
Code:
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.8-2-686/source: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [compile] Error 2
When i try to launch alsa-mixer i get this error message:
Code:
alsamier: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

Reinstalling and other

I have also tried to reinstall the system and updated it without any good result except updated packges. I have read documentation and threads on this forum which doesnt really solve my problem.

Is there someone out there that could be so kind and help me out here? I cannot belive that it should be this hard to just get a sound card working. I have two soundcards too, so its weird.

Any help will be greatly appericiated. Thanks.

Try this, in the case that the kernel have a compiled audigy support though

I installed alsa-source, but "alsaconf" doesnt find any soundcards. I dont know if it has a compiled audigy support, is there any way to check this?
