Need help to configure Apache TO EXECUTE PHP SCRIPTS
 
I have installed Red Hat 9 on my machine. I am a new user. I do not know
about - how i should configure apache server to respond my php scripts
php also has been installed.

I have started the server by giving command on command line on root

httpd
nothing reply received on screen

then I have written a sript by using text editor and stored it in
\usr\http\web folder

then i have started mozila to execute the script, but it wont executed

how i will be able to execute it ?
Please explain me step by step

you need to execute the apache daemon with an option to use PHP, you will have an apache options variable set at some point in the configuration, to which you want to add " -DPHP4" or somethign very similar. on my gentoo system, this file is /etc/apache.d/apache.conf i believe.

Hi, did you try to check whether the httpd is already running? (open a browser window and type http://localhost).
If it's not running, you should do, as root:
$ /apache_install_path/bin/apachectl start

This works on SuSE... not sure about RH.

Then you can configure your linux box to automatically start Apache.



On the web there's plenty of documents detailing all necessary steps... Try googling a bit!
