Need help setting up the "extra" keys on my Logitech iTouch Keyboard
I'm using Red Hat 9.1 and the keyboard is a USB keyboard.
Using the "xev" command from within terminal, I documented the following keycodes: (Note: Some of the keys didn't return a code.........?) I hope this looks correct..........? keycode 151 = XF86AudioStop keycode 164 = XF86AudioPrev keycode 162 = XF86AudioNext keycode 166 = XF86AudioMute keycode 158 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume keycode 165 = XF86AudioLowerVolume keycode 159 = XF86AudioPause keycode 234 = XF86ArrowButton keycode 233 = XF86GoButton keycode 223 = XF86MoonButton keycode = XF86FinanceButton keycode = XF86MySitesButton keycode = XF86CommunityButton keycode 230 = XF86FavoritesButton keycode = XF86iTouchButton keycode 236 = XF86EmailButton keycode = XF86ShoppingButton keycode 229 = XF86SearchButton keycode 130 = XF86MyHomeButton Questions: (1) How can I obtain the keycodes for the other keys? (2) I know I have to edit the "xmodmap" file to reflect this, but where is it? I'm assuming I can use "gedit" from within terminal to do this.....correct? (3) I need to assign an action to each button. Can anyone walk me through this process? (Note: I'd like for all users to be able to use them.) If anyone can help, I sure would appreciate it !!!!!!!! I'm assuming the "xmodmap" file is located here............ /etc/X11/Xmodmap............correct me if I'm wrong on this.
