Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Need Help in Finding Drivers For MSI board

hi guys,
here is the link to my board,
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=734&kind=1
MSI is providing only the Win drivers and not the Linux drivers, am not able to find drivers for the Ethernet card and the Audio card, if somebody can help me in getting those drivers, i would really appreciate it....

Are you saying that the Ethernet and audio don't work under Linux? Have you tried a live CD/DVD to see what happens? I would expect that most Linux distributions have something that will work with just about any Ethernet NIC. The Realtek is probably an AC97 circuit which probably will also have a driver in most Linux distributions.

you mean to say that i shud try all the different drivers that came along with linux, and also i have seen that couple of others are having problem with this board, in finding the drivers....just another question what is an AC97 circuit and how do i know if the one on this board is the same circuit or not... i tried installing different drivers but still my audio card is not recgnised, and also i found some drivers, which i tried compiling, like there was this 8139t00.c... but i couldnt compile it,... i was supposed to compile the Makefile which was also available with that program, i did exactly as it was said .... edited the path according to my config before i compiled... but there were so many errors.... not with the path, but some undefined variables.... so , right now am kinda confused ,, wht to do........

the manual provided by MSI , states that either the Realtek RTL8201CL drivers or the vitesse VSC 8601 drivers should work fine with the on board card, but when i tried to look out for drivers for the realtek card, i found out that this realtek card doesnt need any drivers at all.
