Need help getting Samsung laser printer working

Ive got this when I do lsmod:
plip 14120 0
parport 32456 1 plip
So I think the parallel port it working right?

Ive installed newest cups version and started it up and printer does not work.
I downloaded the exact driver for this printer and installed it and Ive got nothing.
I had it working with the 2.4 kernel.
This printer is also a USB printer but could not get that working either.
What steps should I take next? Thanks.
