Need a replacement keyboard

I've worn out several keys on my keyboard; a Dell SK-1000REW. Dell seems incapable of selling me an exact replacement, so does anyone know of a dealer in refurbished Dell keyboards? In the meantime, I guess I'll have to get out the soldering gun and move a couple of the keys off of the numeric pad to get it going again.

Thanks.

Why not just buy a new keyboard? Its not a laptop keyboard, you should be able to get a new keyboard for like-$10

Is there any reason you need the same keyboard? I haven't had to replace a keyboard yet but I would imagine any newer keyboard of the same type would make a good replacement, too (I did replace a PS2 mouse by a different brand some time ago, worked fine).

Oh, the innocence of youth! :) Not all keyboards are alike. There is no standardization on the placement and shape of the enter key, nor even of size and spacing of keys, in general. Some put junk keys at the top and cram the Prt Screen key etc right next to the backspace so that you hit it by accident. Many keyboards have a sharp lip on the front of the space key that will irritate you or give you a blister. Some of them have space keys that don't work unless you slow down and just mash the damned thing. Ideally, I would have an original IBM PC-102 keyboard, or perhaps a Chicony clone that I once had. The particular Dell keyboard I'm looking for looks like a relabeled PC-102. It's a great keyboard if you spend as much time as I do on it.

Thanks for the help!

Haha, the jokes on me! :) This thing is a membrane keyboard, with no actual switches. Turned the soldering iron back off, used some alcohol to clean the membrane circuit board, and it seems to be working perfectly. Kinda fiddly stuffing 102 rubber cones back in their holes, though. LOL Still, it's nice to have a new one coming.
