Need a replacement keyboard
I've worn out several keys on my keyboard; a Dell SK-1000REW. Dell seems incapable of selling me an exact replacement, so does anyone know of a dealer in refurbished Dell keyboards? In the meantime, I guess I'll have to get out the soldering gun and move a couple of the keys off of the numeric pad to get it going again.
Thanks. |
Why not just buy a new keyboard? Its not a laptop keyboard, you should be able to get a new keyboard for like-$10

Something like this?
http://www.processor.com/listings/fo...p?OHID=6236065 Is there any reason you need the same keyboard? I haven't had to replace a keyboard yet but I would imagine any newer keyboard of the same type would make a good replacement, too (I did replace a PS2 mouse by a different brand some time ago, worked fine). |

Thanks for the help! Added: Haha, the jokes on me! :) This thing is a membrane keyboard, with no actual switches. Turned the soldering iron back off, used some alcohol to clean the membrane circuit board, and it seems to be working perfectly. Kinda fiddly stuffing 102 rubber cones back in their holes, though. LOL Still, it's nice to have a new one coming. |
