Nebula Digitv usb stopped working

Hi Guys,

I recently upgraded from fedora core 5 to 6 and when I did this my digitv (freeview box) stopped being able to tune in. It initializes ok but i get zero signal all the way through the tuning progress. Has anyone else got this box, experienced a similar problem and even better fixed it? I have the unmodified 64 bit fc6 kernel 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6. I am on the verge of checking out the latest mercurial of linux-dvb but wondered if there was just something simple wrong that might be quicker and easier to fix. Oh and the box does work on my windows pc and tunes in ok so it isn't a bad signal issue or faulty hardware.

Same problem here. The Nebula box works fine if it's run under Windows. Another digibox works fine with scandvb on Linux FC6, but the Nebula just never successfully tunes, despite the dmesg logs looking fine.

Anyone got an answer?

Hi rtsh,

I subscribed to the linux-dvb mailing list and got an answer. There are three things you can do to fix it all of which are different methods to the same solution. The problem is that there is something wrong in one of the source code files. The first option is to download the latest mercurial release of linux-dvb from linuxtv.org and manually edit one of the files before compiling. Second is to wait a while download the mercurial and compile. Third is to wait for the mercurial to be included in a kernel release. These are instant, short term and long term solutions respectively. Let me know if you want option a and i'll pass on the info.
