my sound card is ALC861 not ALC861VD. How to tell ALSA that? Need change driver used
Hey. My sound is card is working pretty lousy since linux thinks its a different sound card.
I have an ASUS F3 laptop and
in alsa configuration I found out that my sound card should be ALC861/660 with the option asus-laptop, but when I do
cat /proc/asound/oss/sndstat i get:
Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.16 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux unufrii 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 17:53:40 UTC 2008 x86_64
Config options: 0
Installed drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation
Card config:
HDA Intel at 0xfeaf8000 irq 22
Audio devices:
0: ALC861VD Analog (DUPLEX) ----> aparently ubuntu confused my sound card.
Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
Timers:
7: system timer
Mixers:
0: Realtek ALC660-VD
So basically how do you tell linux to use a different sound card driver?
Thank you
