I can't get my new Nortel Baystack 21 NIC's to work with linux

I have 3 new NIC's, they were manufactured 01/28/2000 so I figured drivers would be available for them but I can't get them to work under linux. They work great in windows with the drivers that came with it however.

In windows they show up as Nortel Baystack 21 10/100 PCI Ethernet Adapter in Network Neighborhood and it shows up under winipcfg as NDIS 5.0 driver.

I'm not as saavy with setting up hardware in linux as I am with windows but here's all the information I could drum up:

contents of /proc/pci

Code:

Bus 0, Device 11, function 0:

Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe5004000 [0xe50040ff]

contents of /proc/iomem

Code:

/sbin/lspci output:
Code:

dmesg output:

When I try getting info on my static ip address and network adapter with ifconfig

Code:

# ifconfig eth0

When I try pinging the gateway machine. (it worked in windows before I formatted and installed linux).

Code:

Apparently it's a discontinued product

Here's some info on the NIC's

This link lists the Nortel BayStack 21 under the RealTek 8129/8139-based adapters

I found a few other posts with people having problems getting it to work under linux. I am running SME 6.0 Server as my linux distro which is based on redhat 7.3. The linux kernel is version 2.4.20-18.7. I tried every single Network Adapter Driver it comes packaged with and the only one that I got a response from was the one I mentioned above (8139too Realtek)

Another thing I should mention is the chip on it says MPX EN5038. Apparently this is the same as the realtek chipset mentioned above. Any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming this hardware doesn't work with linux?
