My CD-RW drive and K3b don't seem to like each other...

I've been trying to get bith K3b and CDBakeOver to add some stuff to a partially used CD-R for a while now, and neither seem to work.

When I try to burn some new files to a CD-R that already has some files and directories, it gives me two "probobly not serious (/quote)" warnings, and then an error that I don't understand...
However, it seems to write to CD-RWs just fine...although Konquerer can't seem to read them.

So basicly, it's like this:

I CAN'T write to CD-Rs, but CAN read them.
I CAN write to CD-RWs, but CAN'T read them.

And then there's CDBakeOven, which says it's written my two new files sucsessfully, but then they don't show up in Konquerer.

Help, please!

just to test this.. if you have iso image lying around on your hard drive

open up a console and cd to the iso image's directory
now use cdrecord (I'll explain

you'll need to know what the exact address of your cd rom device is.. if it is by itself it is most likely dev 0 .. if not, I'll hunt up the command for ya..

cdrecord dev=0 speed=(switch it to whatever your drive is, keep a low number until you actually got a readable burn) (now insert the iso image here, just the name and the .iso)

alright.. use that and if you got a readable copy, then theres a bad config in kb3.. kb3 calls that cdrecord package to burn.. this is to try and narrow where the problem might be

Wait...would that test only work on a fresh CDR or would it work on one that already had a bunch of files? I thought you could only burn an iso image to a cd if it was clean.

you can only burn an iso image to a clean disk.. I find that iso images are a little more stressful on burners then some things.. but this is just to help narrow down exactly where the problem may be..
