i am new to LINUX...i installed LINUX operating system at my LAB...i have multimedia keyboard at home...
when i brought my PC back it stoped working after it tried to configut=re the new keyboard...can some1 plz help me with this...and give me some tips aswell cuz i am totally neww to this OS
I am newbie to Linux and have installed Ubuntu recently. When the selection for what do you want to start, Linux or Windows, the keyboard, which is a Logitech Itouch USB, is not active and the arrows keys will not allow me to move down to select any of the options. Can any one tell me what must be done to fix this?
Can you get into the BIOS when the system boots? (Just hit DEL as usual). If you can navigate the BIOS then your keyboard must have been detected. Check the BIOS settings for anything relating to enabling a USB keyboard.
If you have a new model m/b it would be a good idea to start with a very up-to-date linux distribution, which has the best chance of already including the drivers needed. Or try the latest version of a live CD like Knoppix.
You may still get stuck but you will have a better idea of what is missing (e.g. sound, network), and you can ask again. Probably better to start a new thread specific to the hardware that is giving you problems tho'.
