yes, that's the default output isn't it? you need to look into twinview for xfree86, which is designed to use all the extensions on the twin video card. have a search for it on http://nvnes.net and google for some examples. i think there are a few grpahical config tools for it, but you may find it easier to do it by hand.

You should really read the doc on Nvidia's site on this, it involves changing your xf86config file under /etc/X11. In my case i only needed to change what was under the device section. You can use mine as a template and build on from there:

Section "Device"
BoardName "GeForce4 MX 440"
BusID "2:0:0"
Driver "nvidia"
Identifier "Device[0]"
VendorName "NVidia"
Option "Twinview" "1"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-80"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "50-75"
Option "MetaModes" "1024x768, 1024x768"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPOSITE"
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT, TV"
Option "NoLogo" "1"
# Option "TVOverScan" "0.7"
EndSection

This helps you only if you have a nvidia card, nothing else.
