MS IntellyEye Optical - Mouse Wheel isn't working

Hey!

I just setup Slackware 9.0. XServer and KDE are running just fine. My mouse works too, but the Mousewheel isn't working.
Does anyone know how to set it up correctly, so the Mouse's Mousewheel is activated, too?

Thanks in advance

Canaris

Edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (or XF86Config, I'm not a slacker) and see if you may need to change the protocol and ZAxisMapping. Here is my file for a wheel mouse.
Code:
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Mouse0"
        Driver "mouse"
        Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
        Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
        Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

Hey!

Thanks for the help. i just tried it, but it didn't work. In my config file is only the following:

--------------------------------
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
--------------------------------

As soon as i added the "Protocol" Option, the mouse stopped working.

What now?

It seems strange you have a mouse1 and no mouse0. Is it usb?

Do you happen to have the mouseconfig utility installed?

# Configuring X
Linux Hardware Compatibility HOWTO - video cards
The Linux XFree86 HOWTO
Common X configuring tools:
Debian - dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
Mandrake - XFdrake
Redhat 7.3 down - the setup utility leads to several config tools
Redhat 7.3 up - redhat-config-xfree86
You may have these tools:
XF86Setup
XFree86 -configure
Xconfigurator
xf86cfg
xf86config
xconf

Hey!

Yes it is a USB Mouse.
To be more specific: MS IntelliEye Optical, 2Buttons, 1MouseWheel

I will try mouseconfig. Thanks
