mp3 players


are all mp3 players compatible with linux or should i look for ones and any in particular?

iPods are. I also have a Sandisk player that works well with Ubuntu and Mepis.

I would say if you can mount them as a storage device without any specific drivers like a USB disk then Yes... Otherwise I would not buy it..

There is a compatibility list here - maybe not quite up-to-date but gives a good idea of the crazy variety:

Otherwise I wouldn't assume that anything would work unless you can google a report on the exact model you want to buy.

I currently have a curtis one but for some reason i keeps turning off and it says i need to reformat it :S
