Question MP3 Player help!

I recently received a creative zen v plus as a gift, and when i connect it my pc (via usb 2.0) i doesnt even show up as a usb device. i use pclos and ubuntu, and it wont show up in either. i read in ubuntu forums about using gnomad2, but that wont work because it acts as if its connected at all.

please help

ps
if it matters, it connects fine on my xp machine

you need libmtp (http://libmtp.sourceforge.net) get version 1.0, then install amarok (http://amarok.kde.org) configure with option --with-libmtp. it works really well. i have a 2 gig creative zen v, and it works great.

i have the libmtp,amarok.libnjb, but i dont know what to do when u say: configure amarok with option ---with libmtp

He is mentioning the source file to build and install. When using the ./configure command use it like this.
./configure --with-libmtp

Read the install docs from the website mentioned for amorak to install from source.
