mouse trouble in slackware 9.1


i recently installed slackware 9.1 and i cant get my usb wheel mouse to work. the mouse itself works fine but the scroll wheel doesnt. can anyone help me?

It has to do with zaxismapping in your XF86Config file. Here's some threads from a search on "wheel mouse":

i've just installed Slackware 9.0 as a test on a new box.
i'm surprised there's still a problem with wheel mice.
after searching forums & trying various permutations,
the crucial changes to the default /etc/X11/XF86Config ,
in the mouse section, are:

Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" # instead of "PS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" # a new line

i have a Logitech mouse with a PS/2 adaptor.
after making those changes, scrolling works ok.
