mouse sensivity

I have bought a new wireless mouse, but he is far to sensitive. I have turned pointer acceleration in the kde controll center to 1.0x (it cant be set any lower), but I find him still way to sensitive, how can I fix this?

(sensitive: going all the way to the other side of the screen by moving your mouse over a really short distance)

I don't know if this will help because I haven't tried it, but there is an option "Resolution" in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf which is normally commented out. Sounds like it should do something!

I have a problem with the mouse clicking - one click will open four instances of an application.
Wireless mice are great for armchair computing but they all seem to have one or more problems. Perhaps we should ask readers if they know of any brand / model that really works well?
