mouse problem in fc3
 
hi

i have mouse problem and i m describing it as follows


1: since during instalation of fedora core3 mouse is detected as
generic mouse ps/2 . since i m instaling fc3 in graphical mode
so before getting the graphical sreen crossed ponter is not shown
but atonce it disappear
2: since only pointer is not visible but all it's working is proper

3: i hav problem that cursore is not visible on desctop sreen
so plz try to help

What you're saying is, the mouse is usable but the cursor is not visible?

If so, try running
xsetroot -cursor_name left_ptr

Does a cursor appear?

i am having the same problem in suse 9.3
do u hav a gfx card that is not properly configured?
i am going to install new nvidia gfx card driver.
if u find out the solution pretty please post it here.

mouse problemin fc3
 
i excute command

xsetroot

and i got not excate mouse cursor but got crossed cursor which apear only on desktop and folder browser but it disappear on terminal and any administrative things when i open

i think there is some problem in mouse cursor loading .

although it is working properly both left and right and scroling,
during instaltions of fc3 it shows mouse loaded properly and i checked other mouse but same problem appears my mouse is "3generic mouse ps/2"
my mouse is samsung optical mouse
there is onething during instalations of fc3 i faced mouse cursor visibilty problem but mouse is laoding properly as system loading shows. in other os like win xp it works properly

i run your command in shell but couldn't get problem solved

plz suggestme how to configure mouse cursor and how i can change it.
so that it may visible everywhere and plz tell it in detail so that problem may solve

dude please help me out as well
i am running SuSE 9.3 with KDE.
I tried Gnome as well but same problem
i installed all of KDE
