Unhappy mouse not working when booting/installing off DVD

I have a Perix MX2000 gaming mouse, I have tried a few Distros including ArtistX, Ubuntu Ultimate (a couple of versions) and Elemental(I think it's called).
When I run it in a virtual machine in windows 10x64 it works fine but when I try live DVD's or installing from the DVD the keyboard works on all (also Perix) but no mouse.
I have tried setting full initialisation in Bios for USB and partial and none, experimented with secure boot(and none) and tried changing setting to legacy boot, no difference.
Tried plugging into a USB2 and 3 port before, and re-plugging in while linux running on the off chance it would detect it but no go.
Am at a bit of a loss now what to try next.

may i suggest you go ahead with the install with the mouse UNplugged, then try to solve the problem on an installed system?

in any case we will need info about the mouse, e.g.
Code:
lsusb -v

No, the mouse didn't work after install
I found an old mouse which worked straight away.
Unfortunately I also couldn't get the ASIO drivers working for my sound card which I need for guitar.(I couldn't get any input/output from guitar, even with the linux sound drivers-the normal sound worked;I selected the line in where it is plugged in to in the sound control panel).
The install didn't detect my windows installation so I couldn't dual boot so I have had to re-install windows as I need recording/effects as I play in a band.

Thanks for your help though much appreciated.

so i gather the mouse is not working after the install?

i'm very sorry but i forgot that on some systems you have to issue that command with sudo.
also the verbose switch throws out so much info that i can't interpret.
so, please again, this time:
Code:
sudo lsusb
it should give much less output, so maybe you can just write it down.

and please use code tags for code.
