Question mouse, kvm and dual boot

well here is my situation:

i have 2 machines, hooked up to a zonet two port usb kvm. one machine is running fedora core 3, it works fine. mouse and keyboard work great when i switch to that machine. i decided to make my other machine dual boot win xp and slackware. well i got slackware 10.1 installed to a second drive but when i boot into slack the mouse will only move up and down. i tried to add the following to my xorg.conf file:

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Buttons" "5"

The pointer moves up and down when i move the mouse left to right.
Any help would be greatly appreciate it. I am a newb in linux but am learning hehe.

The ZAxis option is for a scroll wheel and the Buttons is option is pretty self explanatory. Maybe you should try playing around with the YAxisMapping. You could try man xorg or something like that.

ya thanks i appreciate it. what are the "4 5" for? Is there an option for YAxisMapping? Would it be the same as ZAxisMapping?

Once again, thank you for your reply.

Well i'm pretty much guessing here but I think the 4 5 is like something you asign the trackball too like 4 is up 5 is down or whatever so using that strange logic and also hoping there actually is a YAxisMapping option try sticking in 2 3 for it and see if that works. lol
