Mouse disappears off right hand side of screen

I am new to Linux but I don't think this should be happening. When I move the cursor to the right hand side of the screen it doesn't stop at the edge. It keeps going into where the plastic of the monitor is. It's really annoying for scroling because sometimes it slips off and then it stops scrolling.

I have installed the latest drivers for my g-card (NVIDIA 6600GT Dual) and have sleceted my monitor on the list. I am using Suse 10.0 and have tried different resoultions in SaX2. Nothing seems to fix it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Well I hate to be the one to break this news to you but as far as I know it's NORMAL.
If you look closely you'll notice that the point of the "little arrow" (curser) is tucked nicely in the left margin and 'cause it is sloped slightly it is out of sight when on the right.

I hope that clears it up for you.

I understand what you descibe is normal. I'm used to it on my windows. You can just see the edge of the "little arrow" as you put it. What I am talking about is the fact that the cursor disappears by about an inch. Quite significant when it is only a few millimetres across.

Take this example. In the SaX2 testing bit (not sure of the actual name) when the mouse is on screen the box in the middle with the controls on it has a blue bar at the top. When I move the mouse far to the right. It goes grey. As in it is not in focus because the mouse has left. Normally it is in focus wherever the mouse is on the screen. This leads me to believe that Gnome thinks the mouse has gone.

I don't mean to sound impolite I'm just rather annoyed about this. I have been desperately trying to get away from windoze and now I just seem to come up against silly little things like this.

Thanks

Sounds like something to do with virtual desktop switching. You can set window managers up so that when you move the cursor to the edge of the screen, it changes to the next virtual desktop. It sounds like the mouse is switching, but the display isn't.

hmm thats interesting. I forgot to mention before that this happened when I installed slckware 10.2 with KDE. Does it still sound like the same thing? If so how can I stop it?

Thanks very much
