Mouse cursor changes-not!

I have set my mouse (USB wheel mouse) cursor to be big and white, and it remains small and black. Settings in Control Center show it should be changed, but it ain't! Any suggestions?

Come, come people. 17 views and no one knows why my mouse cursor won't accept settings changes? There must be a logical and fixable solution to such a dumb problem.

As so often is the case, if you wait long enough and pay close enough attention, the answer arrives. Turns out I set the cursor in one window manager (KDE) and switched to the other. Seems stupidly simple now, but not before.
