Mouse configuration lost on reboot

I am using Mandrake Linux 10.1. Every time I reboot the sytem the mouse configuration is lost. I use the keypad to bring up the menus and add the mouse. The mouse stays available the entire session until a shutdown or reboot.

Thank you

Try going to "Configure my Computer", hardware, and set things up there. Then, assuming you're using KDE, open Control Centre, peripherals, mouse, make some small change and Apply. This will hopefully "lock in" the settings.

I have noticed in the past that KDE on 10.1 and HardDrake don't always communicate well. This is also valid for other hardware bits besides the mouse.

Thanks for the suggestion. No luck there. I also tried running "mousedrake" from the command line.
