Mounting USB Storage on Wheezy ARMHF in File Manager

I'm using Debian Wheezy ARMHF on a Chromebook. When I attach a USB storage (or SD card) it appears in /dev and I am able to mount it from the command line.

However my USB storage devices are not able to be seen by any file manager I try. PCManFM and Thunar both give this error message in terminal when I start them:

Code:
GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: invoking IsSupported() failed for remote volume monitor with dbus name org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildSignaled: Process /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor received signal 6
I'm using the E17 desktop started with nodm. Any suggestions for getting my USB storage devices to appear in the file manager? Would make it much easier when handing my chromebook to family/friends.

Lightbulb

You can add in the startup file the

--thunar daemon
-- devmon
-- udiskie

Any one of the above should automount flashdrives upon input. Just check out the man pages for options.

When I have thunar --daemon running in terminal and I insert a USB drive I get the same error message I posted above over and over again:

Code:
GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: invoking IsSupported() failed for remote volume monitor with dbus name org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildSignaled: Process /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor received signal 6
I don't think this is an auto-mounting issue. The drives aren't appearing in the filemanager side panel when they are inserted as they do with my other systems - not sure what is different with this chromebook.

Open to suggestions still.
