what i was wondering was i have a drive /storage which is now full of media that i now wish to keep adding files to the same directories eg /storage/movies and all the files in there show up but off 2 seperate hard drives
If you want to mount the new drive as /storage/movies you'll first have to mount it somewhere else and copy over the existing data.
Have a look at this hard drive upgrade article, it contains all the steps you'll need to follow.
