After configuring it to work on windows (which took AGES) I'm now trying to get it to work in linux. Windows made me force the UDMA settings on it..
I've looked everywhere for information on how to mount it in linux. Does anybody know the code I would have to type into the console? It's an LG GDR-8162B drive.
Are you trying to mount the dvd as a fancy CD-ROM (for data) or as a video device? If data, then you have to have /etc/fstab setup to handle this (which is normally setup automatically when you load your distribution).
For video, you don't "mount" the disk. The video program does this for you.
I want to mount it for video DVD's. Mandrake detected it and stuff (I installed the DVD after the linux installation), but when I loaded up xine, I couldn't get it to play the DVD. So I assumed that I had to mount it...
I tried Xine by navigating to directories and stuff, but could not find how to play DVDs?
