Mounting Digital Camera as a Mass Storage Device

Hi

I'm trying to mount my Olympus 3020Z and I know I have to treat it as a USB Mass Storage Device, because that's just the way it is

I created a directory /mnt/camera

and I wanted to mount the camera in this place, however I'm not sure which device to mount. When I do a dmesg | less, here's the output related to the camera:

hub.c: new USB device 00:1f.2-1, assigned address 2

Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Hi..

Usually it will be mapped to /dev/sda.

Please check /proc/scsi for more details

Just a word of warning: if it doesn't work as expected, do not burst a blood vessel over it. My digital camera is recognised as an external, removable scsi device (as per above), and is consequently assigned a /dev/sdx device. All seems fine until you realise that there are no partitions showing... none, zip, nada! So, I dutifully format it (vfat) so I can access it from within Linux, except that the camera can't, so I dutifully format it using the camera's own menus, and then I can't access it under Linux. Solution: I bought a USB card reader.
