Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Mounting a RAID-0 Ubuntu 9.10 [Windows 7 as dual boot]

I am having trouble viewing a RAID-0 on Ubuntu 9.10

Here are my computer specs:
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme
ICH10R used as RAID controller (I believe this is correct)
2 x 1.5TB in RAID 0

In Windows 7, I am able to view the RAID system.

However, in Linux, I can't see the RAID system and when I go to Disk Utility it shows the two drives separately. The first 1.5TB drive says it has a GUID Partition Table (I believe this was a dialog box that came up in Windows 7 about it being recommended for raid systems bigger than 2TB).

My question is how am I able to mount it?

My Main hard drive which Ubuntu and Windows 7 are located on is 1TB

My back up which is noticed on both is 750GB

My raid system is 3TB but i can't view/use it in Ubuntu 9.10

I tried endlessly on google and other sites to try to figure out this problem. I have come across this FakeRaid article on Ubuntu but I'm not sure that is even the route I am trying to go.

Yeah, I figured it out, basically what I did was I downloaded dmraid and gparted (which was pretty weird) because I would not be able to mount without gparted, unless you know of a command I can use.

This is what I did which I would probably have to make a file to make this happen each time I start the computer since this is only good for one login session.

1) Open Terminal > dmraid -ay (to activate the raid)
2) type sudo gparted and gparted opens up and shows the raid
3) Then in the Places Tab on the top, I can click on my RAID system and type root password to mount the drive. Now I have access to it!

The only thing I find weird is that when I use dmraid to activate it. I then try the mount command by typing: sudo mount /dev/mapper/isw_forgotcharactershere_raidnamehere /mnt/. This says it won't work. However, when I run gparted, it is visible and all I need to do is click on it and enter root password to mount it. Other then that, I am glad I spent countless hours on trying to find a decent way to make it work :]
