Mount an external drive as a time capsule for macs

I have a vortexbox (Fedora based music server). Info here: www.vortexbox.org.

The vortexbox creates a share that can be used as a music and movies server. It even allows you to use this share as a time machine: http://info.vortexbox.org/tiki-index...tupTimeMachine

Is there a way to modify this setup-timemachine code (easily since I've never do this before) to direct the time machine to an attached external drive instead of where the music is?
