Motherboard Gigabyte : GA-K8N51GMF9-RH
Hi,
Sorry, I don't speak/write good english. I have a good offer for a computer with this motherboard. I found on mandriva database that the compatibility of the GA-K8N51GMF is certified. I made researches on different harware databases but I found nothing about the compatibility of the GA-K8N51GMF9-RH. And they are quite different. It is difficult for me to understand what Gigabyte wrote about GA-K8N51GMF and about GA-K8N51GMF9-RH Has somebody any information about this motherboard ? Thank you very much raakhbaba |
Both boards are for AMD processors, but the main difference between the two is that one uses socket 754 (obsolete) and the other uses socket 939 (nearly obsolete).
I use a GigaByte GA-M55plus-S3G socket AM2 motherboard. With this board and the newer socket, you'll more easily upgrade to more modern processors in the future, should you choose to do so. I run Ubuntu 6.06, Debian Etch, Fedora Core 6, OpenSuSE 10.1, and Slackware 11 on this system with no hardware compatibility issues at all. Luck! |
Thanks
I will have a look to this card.
Thanks for your answer. raakhbaba |
That mobo is not that expensive. However, the DDR2 800 RAM can be pricey.
Froogle search Best of luck to you! |

I was not awake (very) early this morning. In between I discovered a paper on my desk I wrote two days ago : GA-M55plus-S3G 78€ (=100$) best price in Paris ! AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8Ghz 70€ Kingmax Pc4200 512Mo DDR2 40€ (bad quality ? Other brands are more expensive : kingston = 56€) And the shop where I asked for this computer offered me a machine with GA-K8N51GMF9-RH... Funny. Definitly I will choose the GA-M55plus-S3G even if, at the end, the computer will be more expensive (+65€). But prices in Paris seem double than in Tampa... Have a good day ! raakhbaba |
Search online, mon ami. You can find some very inexpensive prices for that board. Of course, you'll have to buy from a vendor willing to ship to France.
Luck! :) ~Eric |
I search, I search...
Now I am looking at the Asus M2NPV-VM... I will come back, sure. raakhbaba |
