Monitor flickering

I have a problem with the monitor -an LG 500G - that keeps flickering after every few minutes. Any suggestion for the problem. Am running Red Hat 9 on an AMD Duron.

Possible causes
1) Magnetic Interferences
2) Power Supply Problem
and many more, which I dont know...

The cause could be one or more of the above..(if there are many more)

However, just check the refresh rate of the monitor and find out if its getting more heated than it would normally do!

hi

Could be that your Monitor is aging , or else it could be a false contact .
False contact has to be look upon the circuit borads . An inspection of the borad might reveal that a componet is loose needing resoldering . Other , could be a failing component on the vertical u horizontal circuit . Care should be taken when handling the monitor since some parts can hold up to 25 Kv depending onthe size of the picture tube .

Else it could be that you have not chosen the proper monitor in your linux setup and have the wrong drivers for the video card for that arrangement .

Good luck
