I have an HSP 56k micromodem, and it is not detected by redhat linux 7.2, do you have any suggestions for me?

The first one, while sounding harsh, would be to buy a real (spelled U-S-R) modem. USR makes a dandy one that works with linux right out of the box it's ~$100 but it's worth it (be sure to get the right one).

Otherwise, you can go here, here, and here:

rootboy, rootboy, rootboy!

Fancy running into you here! I just found this place today and it looks like you've been rather busy over here. Hope these folks appreciate your good advice.

Any snow down your way?

cheers.

there's an external modem you can get for around 30 bucks...it's really fast and works with Linux like a charm.
Iam afraid that modem you have is a modem that is not supported by Linux, as it's a winmodem.

But isn't kernel 2.4.20 supposed to add support for Winmodems??, I thought I heard something like that somewhere....

Naw, cold as all getout though

We actually had a bit of ice on the road, not used to seeing that anymore. And of course the weather gets Mollie wound up tighter than a three dollar watch. I now know how Fred Flintstone felt when Dino greeted him at the door

So are you ready for Christmas?

Christmas, man, I'm not even ready for Thanksgiving and it's already passed! :-)

Mild snow up here, colder than the proverbial witch's *i*, tho. I can relate to what you've got going there with Mollie as I've one of my own although I refer to mine as Cisco. But isn't all that unconditional love great?!?!

cheers.

I was in the barber shop yesterday and a fella there was telling me that he's had two unsuccessful marriages in his life. His first wife left him for another man and his second one didn't. ;-)

cheers

Sorry about the late response, I'm kinda slow sometimes

It's been raining like a bad dog here, everything is sorta wet... Which makes Mollie's greetings somewhat messy

Still haven't got my Christmas shopping done, waiting on the "after Xmas" sales I guess

Apparently Michael has been working at a ski shop this winter.

And I still haven't got my lights up, which makes it something like four years in a row

I like it

We've hijacked this poor guy's thread long enough, we'd better move this to "General".
